Here’s a list of common illnesses and conditions in dogs and cats that usually require a veterinary visit:

Dogs:

Here’s a list of common preventative medicine measures for dogs and cats that help keep them healthy and reduce the risk of serious illness:

Dogs:

  • Vaccinations (rabies, distemper, parvovirus, bordetella, leptospirosis, Lyme depending on risk)

  • Heartworm prevention (monthly medication or injection)

  • Flea and tick prevention (topical, oral, or collars)

  • Routine wellness exams (annual or semiannual)

  • Dental cleanings and at-home dental care

  • Spay/neuter surgery

  • Routine bloodwork and senior wellness screening

  • Microchipping for identification

Cats:

  • Vaccinations (rabies, feline viral rhinotracheitis, calicivirus, panleukopenia, FeLV, depending on risk)
